Finding Color in the Ashes is a fantasy dating sim where you rebuild an inn and hang out with a witch named Lucy.
It’s a mostly cozy management game where you slowly rebuild a ruined inn, choosing how you spend you time. The day is divided up into mornings, afternoons, evenings, nights – and weekends have their own events as well.
You also need to keep the surrounding area clear of monsters, equipping yourself with weapons and spells and engaging in turn based dice-combat. There are a variety of weapons, armors, and spells to buy, learn, and upgrade.

Added
- Elite training skill can be learned – increasing your MAX HP, Energy, and giving the ability to raise stats to 400.
- Training Stats: You can pick two stats to train to 400 – choose between Power, Agility, Defense, and Magic.
- To unlock Elite training, defeat the Gnoll Nomad in the Gnoll Hills dungeon.
- New potion: Storm Potion – increases magic damage until the end of a fight.
- 2 new enemies: Fractured Gnoll, Gnoll Berserker
- 2 new bosses: Gnoll Nomad, Nightlord
- New bosses show up at the end of the dungeons in the Wispwood and Gnoll hills.
- New enemy trait: Berserker – enemy will deal +1 damage for every 5 points of missing health.
- New enemy trait: Life Steal – enemy will heal for 25% of all damage dealt
- You can craft ropes, lockpicks, and torches at the forge
- New UI art for monster status effects
- New conversation topics with Lucy
- New loot: Nomad Skull: Used for levelling end-tier combat skills and training stats.
- New loot: Nightlord Root: No use currently, will be used to learn advanced spells and magic skills
- New NPC: Zhoe
- 2 New events featuring Zhoe

Adjustments
- Moved the train attributes button to make it a little more obvious
- Advanced training raises your stat max to 250 instead of 300. Combined with Elite Training, this should make build choices a little more meaningful.
- Lucy’s Shield and the Shield spell can now block 100% of damage (and therefore prevent bleed + poison)
- Brag about killing mighty foes to barbarians to gain rep
- Adjusted costs of Ropes, Lockpicks, and Torches
- Dungeon encounter tables have been reworked
- UI adjustments
Fixes
- It was possible to overspend on resources in inn projects and still bring in guests
- Haste potion mentioned twice on Lucy’s skill screen, Burst and Storm potions now referenced properly as well.
- Training attributes wasn’t spotting newly collected resources without restarting the game
- Storm potions couldn’t be brewed – fixed.
