What's New in xxxFiles Version - 0.1b?

NEW

• A present for everyone: Go to the convenience store and talk to the clerk.
• RIKO GOOD route added: No new animation though, I just make it so choosing to be the good guy will not punish players with missed events/scenes
• RILEY route added: I add some story contents for RILEY so players can improve their stats while having something to look forward to.
• REI route added: The reason is the same as Riley, but Rei events are quite few, but should be enough to keep players entertained
• A new area: Continue with the story to unlock. A whole new cast, but a lot of them are under development, should be ready for the next update.
• A new character route: From the new area.
• A minigame: For the new character route. (Don’t worry, you can skip the minigame if you don’t feel like playing).
• Replay and Gallery: I just quickly add one, so it is quite simple actually, but it gets the job done, albeit a bit ugly looking. There will be some missing videos in the Replay but I will add them later on. The Gallery is empty though, main reason is below. And no, I will not sell a key to fully unlock the Replay and Gallery, you will need to play the game to unlock stuff. Crazy!
• Screenshot: At first I want players to be able to take their own pictures and have them in the gallery. Sadly, there’s no good way to do this with Ren’py. Still, it is a pretty cool function. Try it in game with H key. Unfortunately, mobile players will not get this content as I haven’t got the time to port the UI and key binding to touch screen.
• Save naming/deleting: Also something I quickly put in, a framework from BadMustard, to let you name and delete save files easily.
• Audio control: I have separated the audio channels for Text and H-videos, so you can now customize it to your own liking.
• Transparent textbox: The textbox transparency can now be customized as well.
• CHEAT: yes, you get free cheat. Don’t need to be a paid member or anything.
• A LOT of other minor additions to make the game feel more alive.

CHANGES

• Being the good guy: So quite a few players want the game to be less gory or corrupted. I got you. Most (I think…) scenes with tentacles/gore are now skippable or avoidable, and I plan to change how I approach new content, such as with the new character, you can choose to avoid ALL of her H-scenes and still make progress, like a normal dating sim. Crazy? It took all of my 2 brain cells to think of a suitable script orz
• Grinding: Changes made so playing t he game feels less like a chore. I still want to keep some elements of grind though because that is my thing. So I add Cheat for anyone who doesn’t share my taste.
• Code: So I change A LOT of my code. That’s why you will need a fresh start. This is mainly to ensure other updates will be more smoothly. I hope I don’t have to make huge changes like this again…
• Performance: With changes to the code, I have to take a different route for those moving sprites/pictures. And it looks like this hurts the performance quite a bit. This is on my to-do list, to add an option to turn all those dynamic sprites to static ones. Still trying to find a solution though, but it is high on my list.

BUGS

• As a sole creator, I try to play test the game during and after development. Unfortunately, it is impossible for me to recreate every possible choice the players can make that may break the game, especially in a game with different choices. So if you find any bugs, please report it in the discord server under the bugs-report channel and I will take a look at it.
